Q.I’m brand new to cycling. what can i expect?
A. The first time we just want you to have FUN! Tell your instructor you are new and they will get you properly fit for your bike. If you have a heart rate monitor wear it because we have the ability to track your heart rate throughout the class. This is a good way to stay in lower heart rate zones for your first few classes until your body adjusts. However, if you don’t have a heart rate monitor, it’s no problem; we will used perceived exertion. Training the body is easy; it’s the mind we need to work with so our rides address proper breathing, and mental focus as well as the physical body. Cycling is a great way to sweat and rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul. It’s Psycle-logical.
Q. Do i need to book my bike beforehand or can i just walk in?
A. Booking your bike beforehand secures your seat in the class, and insures you get the exact bike and spot you want, but it’s not required. Try it out! It’s super easy, and removes the stress of finding a bike when you arrive.
Q. How early do i need to arrive before my class?
A. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled class time. If it is your first time, please let the instructor know so we can get you properly set up and answer any questions you may have. If you are attending a class outside of Boutique store hours (for example, a 5:30 or 6 AM class) the studio will open 15 minutes prior to the start of class.
Q. do i need my own indoor cycling shoes?
A. No, you don’t, but we rent them for $3 if you would like to use cycling shoes! Our bikes have double sided pedals. One side is equipped for indoor cycling shoes that are compatible with SPD cleats. Flip the pedal around and it has a basket with a strap for use with regular athletic shoes.
Q. Can i cancel a ride if i can’t make it?
A. Of course. This can easily be done online from your phone! Just make sure to cancel online or let us know as soon as possible, so that we can let someone else book that bike. If you cancel with less than 10 minutes before the class starts it’s considered a late cancel and a $15 fee will be charged to your account. Nobody wants that. So, don’t miss class; your body will thank you!
Q. Can I bring a friend and ride next to them?
A. We highly encourage this! Book your bikes next to each other before you get here through our website and DONE!
Q. I haven’t worked out in a long time, can i still do it?
A. Absolutely! Every class is accessible for a variety of fitness levels. If you have a heart rate monitor, wear it because we can use it as a guide throughout class to make sure you are staying in the proper zones for your current fitness level. If not, no problem, we will use a scale of perceived exertion. It’s all about finding your “WHY” and what motivates you to transform your mind and body by pushing your limits and getting better a little bit at a time. We can help walk you through modifications to suit your fitness level.
Q. I am new to altitude. What can i expect from riding at 9,600 feet?
A. I’m glad you asked! Working out at altitude requires a few extra precautions. First, we have a lot less oxygen which your body needs during exercise so be mindful of your heart rate and breathing patterns. If you don’t feel good, slow down and rest a moment. Second, it’s VERY DRY at altitude so we can’t stress enough how important hydration is! We have both bottled water and water to refill reusable bottles in the studio so DRINK UP!!
Q. do i need to bring a towel?
A. No! We’ve got you covered (literally)! Towels are available free of charge and you will be offered a cool facecloth with essential oils as a refreshing way to conclude our rides!
Q. do you have lockers? Do i need to bring my own lock?
A. Yes, we have both lockers with combination locks built in so NO need to bring your own lock and we have open cubbies for storage.
